Kamala Harris
Kamala Devi Harris was born October 20 1964. She is an American politician. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female elected vice president, and she is also the most powerful female officer in the history of America. She is a member of the Democratic Party and was previously the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017. In addition she was an United States senator representing California between 2017-2021. Harris was born in Oakland. Harris received her law degree from Howard University. She started her career with the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Then she was recruited to San Francisco District Attorney's Office. She was elected San Francisco district attorney in 2003. Harris was elected Attorney general of California in the year 2010. In 2014, she won re-election. From 2017 to 2021, Harris was the junior United States senator for California. Harris beat Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate elections to become the 2nd African American woman, and the first South Asian American, to serve as a senator in the United States Senate. As a senator she advocated healthcare reform, federal descholaring of cannabis, a path for immigrants who are not legal citizens and the DREAM Act and a ban on assault weapons. She also supported progressive tax reform. The attention of the nation was drawn by her outspoken examination of Trump administration officials at Senate hearings. This included Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who was accused of sexual abuse.
